Artista italiano nato ad Avezzano nel 1966, ha studiato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino e successivamente all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Attualmente vive e lavora tra Roma e New York. L’impronta artistico-scientifica che caratterizza l’opera di Di Fabio risente delle esperienze formative dei genitori, specializzati nell’arte e nelle scienze naturali. La rappresentazione del microcosmo naturale è il cuore della poetica pittorica di Alberto Di Fabio. Tale rappresentazione diviene il mezzo della costante tensione dello sguardo dell’artista, che ossessivamente passa da una visione microscopica ad una macroscopica della realtà.
Da sempre la sua poetica si sviluppa per cicli di opere che raccontano tematiche ambientali e scientifiche. I suoi dipinti giocano con la realtà delle forme per svelare valenze implicite e nascoste che ribaltano nello spettatore la percezione del mondo delle immagini. Le grandi installazioni, composte da più fogli in carta cinese, attivano una vera e propria esplorazione della struttura della materia. La parete si anima sotto partiture eleganti, tessiture aggrovigliate e scale tonali.
Partendo dall’idea che l’astrazione non è altro che uno sguardo diverso sul reale, il luogo dell’incontro tra la realtà in sé e la nostra visione condizionata dall’esperienza, Alberto Di Fabio ci guida nella sua osservazione del mondo. Compone incursioni nel mondo cellulare, nelle catene di Dna, nelle panoramiche aeree di montagne. Un viaggio nella sintesi dell’universo che diviene pittura.

 Italian artist born in Avezzano in 1966, Alberto Di Fabio attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Urbino and later the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. Currently he lives and works between Rome and New York. The artistic-scientific mark of Di Fabio’s work conveys the training experiences of his parents, who specialised in Art and in Natural Sciences.  The representation of natural microcosm lies at the heart of Alberto Di Fabio’s painting. It is representation that becomes the means through which the constant tension of the artist’s gaze is expressed, a gaze that shifts from a microscopic to a macroscopic vision of reality.
Di Fabio’s poetics have always been developed through series of artworks that address environmental and scientific themes. His paintings play with the reality of shapes and forms, unveiling hidden, implicit valences that overturn the viewer’s perception of the world of images. His large installations, composed of numerous sheets of Chinese paper, fuel a true exploration into the structure of material. Walls are animated beneath elegant musical scores, intricate weavings and tonal scales.
Starting from the idea that abstraction is nothing more than a different view of the real, the meeting place within which reality in and of itself and a human vision conditioned by experience can encounter one another, Alberto Di Fabio leads us through his observations of the world. He conducts incursions into the cellular world, DNA chains and panoramic aerial views of mountains. It is a voyage into the synthesis of a universe turned into artwork.
